As Sony promised, the latest State of Play event focused on Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated title — The Last of Us Part 2!
The event lasted about 20 minutes long and it mostly shared already mentioned features the upcoming game will use. This State of Play was mostly an overview of some of the new gameplay mechanics that players will see when they start playing, however, the tail end of the event showcased eight-minutes of never before seen gameplay.
As Director Neil Druckmann mentions, it might feel like there showcasing a ton of gameplay and story content for the highly anticipated game, but he reassures you that they aren’t even scratching the surface!

Over the course of this nearly 25 minute episode, Neil Druckmann, Director of The Last of Us Part II, will provide an extensive look at the gameplay, threats, and world of the game ahead of its release on 19th June on PS4. To cap it all off, he’ll introduce a never-before-seen extended gameplay sequence to close out the show.
In related news, Director for The Last of Us Part 2, Neil Druckmann has shared yesterday that an official podcast for the titular game will be dropping early next month!
The newly announced podcast will be a deep dive into the creation of both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part 2. Neil Druckmann will of course be part of the podcast, however, we will also get special guests such as key developers, voice actors — Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie) — and much more!
