Microsoft Announces Limited Edition Titanfall Controller for Xbox One

January 15, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The controller will launch alongside the game in March.

A limited edition Titanfall themed controller has been announced for the Xbox One edition of the game by Microsoft on the Xbox Wire.

Joel Emslie, lead artist at developer Respawn, commented:

"In a collaborative effort with the Xbox design team and the Respawn art department, our goal was to create a controller that feels as if it is a piece of military spec hardware transported from the universe of Titanfall and into players hands."

The controller was inspired by the C-101 carbine rifle used by Titan pilots in the game.

Titanfall will be released on March 11th on PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One and the controller will also be available from that date in North America and from March 13th in Europe.

The game lacks a conventional single player mode which makes TItanfall "tough" to market according to producer Drew McCoy. It's fair to say that there's quite a bit of anticipation for the game regardless and the controller looks better than many special edition game-themed pads.
