The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 Not Releasing This Fiscal Year

May 7, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Looks like we may have a little wait before our next big adventure.

There are several big hits available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch platform. Easily one of the top, if not the top game for the platform has been The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This game released on the Nintendo Wii U but after the console hardware failed to make a big hit, Nintendo made the game also readily available for the Nintendo Switch as well. Now we’re moving forward with the game being one of the best open-world RPGs available and for some, this is the pinnacle Zelda title from the entire franchise.

It was a massive open world with players being able to freely explore and complete tasks in the order of their choosing. Likewise, the game featured plenty of mechanics that gave players a challenge in not only combat but also solving puzzles. From the various different towns, characters, and terrains, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a game you’ll find yourself spending countless hours on. However, it wasn’t long ago that we got our first reveal of a sequel in the works.

We know that this mysterious sequel has been in development for a little while now and fans could have been waiting out in hopes that the Nintendo E3 Direct upload would have confirmed a release window for the game. Unfortunately, that’s not going to be the case as Nintendo recently held an earnings call and charted out the future for investors. It was in this call that the investors were given some games that were coming out this fiscal year.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was not on that list and with so many rumors and supposed leaks being based on Nintendo celebrating Mario in a big way this year, it would make a bit more sense to see Zelda get pushed back into a later 2021 release if not even further back into 2022. At any rate, this may be a big disappointment for fans but right now we will simply have to wait and see just what Nintendo unveils when they bring out the next big Nintendo Direct.
