Nintendo Reveals Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel Currently In Development

Jun 11, 2019 Dennis Patrick

Get ready for your next adventure on Nintendo Switch.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launched just a couple years ago in 2017. This title was available on both the last generation Nintendo platform, the Wii U and the current hybrid platform, the Nintendo Switch. Unlike some of the past installments to the franchise, gamers received a vast open world to explore and a number of dungeons to complete. Best of all, the game didn’t direct players in any particular pathway but instead offered gamers the ability to go wherever they pleased. As you by now know, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a massive hit and instantly became the best Zelda title in plenty of players eyes. While we are not here to rank the games in this article, we are pleased to make note that the sequel to Breath of the Wild is currently in the works.

We’re getting another seemingly open world adventure that will take place after the events of the first Breath of the Wild title. Nintendo ended their E3 Direct video upload with a small teaser trailer showcasing both Link and Zelda traveling into the depths below where they discover something quite sinister. We’re unsure of what this narrative will hold just yet or if there will be any significant changes to the game outside of just the story.

At any rate, we do know that Nintendo is already hard at work to deliver the sequel for gamers but we will have to wait as there is no release date attached to the project quite yet. This could mean that it may not release in 2020 after all, we are only told that this title is in development so it could very well be early in production.
