Remember the Sega application for Shenmue 3? We have proper confirmation that it's fake.
In a statement to Computer and Video Games, a Sega spokesperson confirmed that the whole thing was made up and that they're looking into it.
“Sega has confirmed that the recent application for the trademark of Shenmue III is a fake and is looking into the origins of this application,” wrote Sega.
Well, that's too bad. Hopefully the hype over the application was enough to show Sega that interest in the game still exists.
