Overwatch’s Limited Time Lunar New Year Event Starts Now; New Weekly Challenges, Skins, and Modes Detailed

It’s the year of the rat!

Blizzard has taken to twitter to announce and detail the yearly limited time event for their critically acclaimed long-running multiplayer shooter title, Overwatch!

Yes, Lunar New Year is here and with that comes limited time events for multiplayer games like Overwatch. Players who partake in the Lunar Year event will be tasked with completing weekly challenges which will grant them special skins, as well as play in a new mode called CTF BlitZ. The announcement comes with a new one minute long trailer which showcases the full limited time event in action!

In related news, Overwatch is not the only game that has received a special limited time Lunar New Year event. Yes, that’s right Pysonix cars-meets-soccer title — Rocket League has also received a lunar festival.

Titled Lucky Laterns, players will be introduced to a new Chinese-themed new year event with new skins, flags, and playable maps. The newly released trailer manages to showcases a little bit of everything when it comes to the new Lucky Lanterns event, but remember this will be limited time.
