There never seems to be a shortage of Dragon Ball Z video game titles released into the market and this year we’re going to get a title that fans have been anticipating. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a new installment that follows Goku and his friends throughout the various big timeline events of the anime series. However, there is a bit more to the game than some of the past installments we’ve seen launched over the years.
For starters, this is not just a fighting game but an RPG title that allows players to explore the area and pick up side quests. While there will be plenty of moments that are iconic from the anime series attached to this campaign, we will see a few new storylines attached as well. Likewise, it has been stated that there will be a few questions finally answered about the Dragon Ball Z lore fans who have been dying to know.
Recently, IGN has posted the first 17 minutes of gameplay footage for the upcoming title and you can check it out above. It opens up with a fight against Piccolo which should give you a little bit more insight on the gameplay and combat you’ll be enduring. Furthermore, you can get a look at the game area, but don’t expect too much as there is plenty of gameplay kept secret until the game finally makes its way out into the market.
In other Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot news, you’ll want to make note that if you purchase a physical edition of the game then there won’t be a season pass attached. Luckily, you won’t have to wait very long before you’re able to get a copy of the game as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be launching on January 17, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
