Loot boxes was a heavy topic this year. There have been so many variations being implemented into video games both paid and free-to-play, but it’s clear that there is a pretty strong stance against these purchases being available. You’ve likely encountered a loot box in a video game you’ve been playing recently. They are mechanics that are available to be purchased that rewards players with a bundle of in-game items.
However, the appeal to these loot boxes is that there’s no telling just what you’ll get inside and as a result, some have labeled loot boxes as gambling. It’s entirely possible for someone to become addicted to the thrill of getting something rare in these loot boxes, but you’ll have to deal with paying for the items either by real money or in-game currency.
With loot boxes being such a big focus in the video game industry this year, there have been some changes being made. For instance, some developers have started to showcase the odds of certain items in a loot box or even outright showcasing the items inside for players to purchase. It’s preference really if you like loot boxes to be available in a video game. However, it looks like the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare video game may have loot boxes.

The beta is currently going on right now and it’s being reported that some players are seeing references to Supply Drops, which were used in the series before as a loot box title. It’s not known just yet if these will actually be included in the game or not, but if so, there is bound to be plenty of players out there who would like to know just what items would be available from a potential purchase.
So far, Activision and Infinity Ward have yet to make any public comments about the matter. Would you like loot boxes to be included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Currently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is slated to release on October 25, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
