Nintendo Switch Units With Improved Battery Life Now Available

August 15, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Check the model number to ensure your Nintendo Switch is the latest iteration.

The Nintendo Switch has been receiving plenty of rumors over this past year. We’ve seen everything from a pro version of the Nintendo Switch to a cheaper edition. While we didn’t get technically a pro version of the game console platform, we did receive a cheaper style Nintendo Switch known as the Nintendo Switch Lite. Likewise, a new iteration of the Nintendo Switch was unveiled and is now starting to make its way into markets around the world. If you already own a Nintendo Switch, then this current iteration is likely not anything that will cause you to make an upgrade.

If you don’t recall the new iteration, the changes are rather simple. The main change for the system is that the battery has been improved which would give players a few extra hours of gameplay when used in its portable mode. If you don’t take your Nintendo Switch out of its dock then chances are you probably don’t fret over the battery life in general for the console. With that said, if you’re in the market for a Nintendo Switch then you may want to go ahead and make sure you get a HAC-001(-01) model which comes with the better battery life.

For those who are only interested in using the Nintendo Switch on-the-go then you may be a bit more interested in the Nintendo Switch Lite. This is a system that will come with a discount but loses out on the ability to dock the console and play video games officially through a television display. Likewise, you’ll also lose the detachable Joy-Cons which may worry some as there has been plenty of trouble with the standard Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons bugging out with the analog stick registering movement randomly. We’re not sure if this will be a problem for the Nintendo Switch Lite, but we’ll keep an eye out for any reports that go up after the system launches this September 20, 2019.
