Gears 5 Will Include A Bootcamp To Knockoff The Rust

July 16, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Bootcamp will provide gamers with a new means to practice skills and tweak mechanics.

The latest installment to the Gears of War franchise, Gears 5, is coming out later this year and chances are you may not have played a Gears of War title in a long time. Gears of War 4, for example, launched back in 2016 so there’s a good chance that it’s been at least a few years since you went back and enjoy the game series. If that’s the case, it’s possible that you may need some practice before you start your journey in seeking out locust or going against other players online. Whatever the case may be, the development team, The Coalition, has implemented a practice area for players to learn new movements and hone in their skills. So even if it’s your first time in the game series or if you need to knockoff some of that rust, making use of the Bootcamp may prove to be worthwhile.

Gears 5 Bootcamp is essentially a training guide for players to understand the controls, movement and various weapon types of the game. The mechanics shouldn’t be too hard to get down right away, but at least with this game mode, players will get some practice in before the campaign or online game modes. You can see the Bootcamp game mode in action from the official Gears 5 video upload from The Coalition posted above.

As for the narrative, players will be taking on the role of Kait Diaz who learns that she is a descent from the Locust. Her past is a mystery and players will be embarking on the journey to uncover her family origins. However, outside of the campaign, we know that the game will feature a few game modes that have been tweaked for this latest upcoming installment. For instance, this past weekend we got a look at the Escalation game mode which has a few changes in comparison to Gears of War 4.

Gamers interested in Gears 5 can pick up a copy of the game for either the Xbox One or PC platform on September 10, 2019.
