A New Sonic the Hedgehog Video Game Is Currently Being Developed

March 18, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Team Sonic Racing also receives free animated series. Watch the first part right here.

It doesn’t come to much of a surprise to see that a new Sonic the Hedgehog video game is in development. There’s a constant flow of Sonic titles released into the market, but we recently got the announcement of Sonic currently being developed during a panel at SXSW 19. Sega didn’t give any details at the moment so it seems that either this untitled Sonic the Hedgehog video game is not very far into development or perhaps the news is being unveiled at a later date such as this year’s upcoming E3 expo.

Regardless, if you’re a fan of the franchise then you will be getting a new installment hopefully within the year. Even if we don’t get the latest untitled installment to the franchise this year, another Sonic based video game is already set to launch in the near future. We’re referring to Team Sonic Racing. If you’re familiar with the past Team Sonic racing video games then you know that this is a kart-style racer full of power-ups and interactive courses. However, unlike the previous installments, instead of this game featuring other Sega classic franchises, Team Sonic Racing will only feature Sonic the Hedgehog characters.

It was also revealed that Team Sonic Racing would have a two-part animated series which you can view free online. So far only the first part was released with the panel stating that the second part would be released sometime in April. Unfortunately, that’s all the new information we have at the moment.

For those of you who are interested in picking up the upcoming kart racer, Team Sonic Racing, you can do so on May 21, 2019, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and lastly the PC platform.
