Media Create reports that Pokemon X and Y is already hitting the big figures, as the game has already received 260,000 preorders in Japan in just two days. To put this in perspective, that's a little more than total sales for Dragon's Crown in the country thus far (which is around 235,000 units). The big incentive for Pokemon fans to preorder from Pokemon Centers are the exclusive Yveltal and Xerneas figures.
Aside from that, of course, there is just the general hype for a new Pokemon game, with this one being the first to release simultaneously worldwide. There are still two months to go before its release, so it may well be in place to beat Pokemon Black & White's record of over 1 million preorders before its June 12 release.
A month after the game, The Pokemon Company is also releasing the Pokemon X and Y Super Music Collection on iTunes. Japanese fans again get something special as they can buy it on retail come November 13. The soundtrack will contain 212 tracks, including some bonus tracks, as well as a 28-page booklet with art and game information.
The rest of the world may not be getting these exclusives, at least not yet, but as we confirmed before, UK and US are getting the special Pokeball 3DS containers, and US is likely to get the special edition 3DS XLs with the game preinstalled, at least if Fils-Aime's. prior statements about 3DS colors is to be believed. Cross your fingers that Nintendo works with their big partners GAME, Gamestop and others to bring the other Pokemon swag worldwide.
