Earlier today we reported that the Epic Games Store was offering a free copy of Super Meat Boy on the PC for a limited time. If you’re still looking for some great video game titles to enjoy this weekend without spending a dime then we got some good news for you. It was recently announced that Soma can be downloaded for free through the GOG marketplace. This will not cost you anything and being GOG you will get a game that is free from DRM. But like other deals of this nature, you won’t be able to download the game whenever. Instead, you will need to download the copy of Soma at least by January 3, 2019, as the game will then be tossed back into the mix of other titles which can be purchased.
Frictional Games are fantastic developers who know how to create terrifying video games as they previously released Penumbra and Amnesia. Their latest release falls right in line with the past two IP launches. Soma is a survival horror title that puts players into an underwater remote research facility.
Within the game, players take on the role of Simon Jarrett who must uncover the truth behind the facility that’s gone rogue with machines taking on more human characteristics. If you’re familiar Amnesia, Soma takes on the similar gameplay style in that players will be keen to take a stealthy approach when dealing with the enemy. It’s best to avoid danger when possible while searching for clues and solving puzzles.
If you’re unsure about Soma then we suggest taking a look at our video coverage which can be viewed up above.
