Plants vs. Zombies 2, the tower defence game from PopCap Games, will feature new plants to defend your house and new zombies to defend against.
In the character art you will notice a Light Plant that probably also clears the fog like the lamps in the original game. Clear the fog and you will reveal both cowboy and pirate themed zombies desperate to eat your brains.
As menacing as the zombies may prove, the Coconut Cannon looks like it will formidably hold off any invasions, especially when combines with the Bloomerang plant.
Originally set to release on July 18th, PopCap announced the delay of Plants vs. Zombies 2 over their Twitter account. The delay came because the studio wanted to provide the best game possible. With PopCap now working on the third-person shooter, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, you can reasonably assume that PopCap struggled to develop two large games simultaneously.
With no specific day mentioned, Plants vs. Zombies 2 should release first on iOS devices sometime later this summer.
