Ex Infinity Ward Member Looking To Kickstart A Game Staring A Boy With A Sleeping Disorder

March 5, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

As well as harken back to the glory days of the Super Nintendo.

Remember Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's former creative strategist went on to found his own company, Robotoki? And how its first game, Human Element, is one of the more high profile original offerings to debut on the Ouya? Well, turns out, he has an idea for another game, but he needs a little help to make it happen.

Hence why he's turning towards the modern miracle that is known as Kickstarter. The name of the game is The Adventures of Dash and it's about a boy with narcolepsy:

The goal is $400,000, which will be used to create a side-scrolling puzzle platformer. One that is slated for release on the PC, Max, Linux, iOS, Android, the Ouya (naturally), and even on consoles.

As Bowling explains in his Kickstarter pitch, spending seven years of his life working on a super realistic and thoroughly modern warfare game has led him to harken back to the good old days, of classic puzzle platforming goodness.

Also, something that’s reminiscent of the 16-bit era, specifically the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. As evidenced by the stack of SNES carts almost directly behind Bowling.

Hence we have a game in which you control a young boy who can't control when he falls asleep. But while in the state of slumber, he assumes various alter egos, which comes with it a unique look and play style.

It is hoped that Dash will debut on the PC, Mac, Linux, and Ouya by the end of the year, in November. From there, development of mobile versions will commence, and the profits from all those versions will hopefully lead towards console releases.

If the Kickstarter managed to exceed its $400,000 goal, then those funds will go directly towards console versions, which will hopefully be released alongside the rest.
