Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC: Shepard Lives!

February 21, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Commander Shepard lives through the end of Mass Effect 3, and the upcoming Citadel DLC shows the aftermath of the game’s events.

Mass Effect 3: Shepard Lives

Update: Details about whether the content will take place after the end of the game or before it are actually unclear.

BioWare has just confirmed plans to release one final adventure for Commander Shepard and his (or her) crew in Mass Effect 3's single-player campaign. It'll be available on March 5 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 for $14.99 or 1200 MS Points.

The DLC, which is titled "Citadel" sees Commander Shepard and the rest of the crew uncover the truth about a sinister conspiracy that targets his life, through battles and intrigue that range from the glamour of the Citadel's Wards to the top-secret Council Archives.

It's set before and after the endgame, and sees Shepard teaming up once more with the cast from the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, including Urdnot Wrex.

Once the game is over, Shepard can reconnect with characters from the Mass Effect Trilogy by spending time gambling at the Citadel's Silver Coast Casino, blow off steam at the Armax Combat Arena, or explore Shepard's living quarters aboard the Citadel, which you can fully furnish and customize to your heart's content.

Beyond that, players will be able to learn of the fates of the entire Mass Effect cast, including Shepard's romances, through unique content and cinematics. In many ways, the forthcoming content confirms what fans have suspected all along: Shepard lives.

You didn't think Shepard could die that easily, did you?
