When popping in your copy of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance into either your PS3 or Xbox 360, which comes out tomorrow by the way, you will either be delighted or horrified to discover that there's day one DLC. Which, naturally, entirely depends on one's view on day one DLC in the first place.
So, what's up for grabs? Raiden's attire from Metal Gear Solid 4, that's what:
And what will it cost you? For the relatively low price of $1.99. Hey, it could be much worse.
That’s the asking price on the PlayStation Network. As it will be on the Xbox 360, presumably; sorry but I seemed to have misplaced my universal calculator that determines how real world money equates into Microsoft's arcane point system.
At the moment, the costume is on the only piece of DLC that is available, aside from the PS3 version's exclusive VR missions.
It’s still not entirely clear if VR mission as a whole are exclusive to Sony’s machine, or if they appear on both systems, and the PS3 simply has a few extras. It would appear to be the latter instance.
Back to costumes; there’s also the Gray Fox outfit from Metal Gear Solid 1, which is a pre-order bonus, at least here in America. Europeans gamers get their right from the get-go.
It is assumed that those in the US who either cannot or refuse to do business with GameStop, the outlet that has dibs on the Gray Fox outfit, can purchase it at a later date.
So, more outfits might be coming down the pipeline. Which is a sad fact of AAA releases in this modern era. The Metal Gear franchise has always known for its abundance of extras, and those days might be in the past.
Still, I want a naked Raiden skin, from Metal Gear Solid 2, and am willing to pay money for it upfront.
