Amplitude Studios’ strategic 4X game Endless Space 2 will be free to play within a limited window. It joins the likes of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which you can play without spending a dime for the next couple of days.
Endless Space 2 sees you become leader and manager of multiple galactic civilisations. To thrive, you’re required to accumulate resources like dust and food, unlock new technologies in expansive skill trees, and survive ambushes in the name of conquering the unknown. We thought it was a solid turn-based experience with a superb soundtrack and phenomenal lore.
In an interview with Gameranx, Amplitude Studios creative director Romaine de Waubert said player feedback was instrumental in the formation of a deeper sequel that took things to the next level:
“We are working in such a way with our players to shape our games, that quite frankly I don’t even understand how games could be made otherwise…when you decide not to do something based on your players’ feedback, it is good to for you to know why. It is good to be challenged and to think through what you do, and what you don’t do. “
You can check out Endless Space 2 here. If the free trial convinces you, the standard edition is selling at half price ($19.99 USD) until November 23.
