So while everyone is still upset about Rayman Legends no longer being a Wii U exclusive, you have the other side of the coin. Many others are equally irate that Platinum's Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101, both Wii U exclusives as well, are not going to be on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well.
Platinum fans who wish not to invest in Nintendo's latest home hardware have been voicing their displeasure ever since both games were revealed, and it would appear that does not seem to be any end in sight.
Which was enough to prompt Platinum figure head Hideki Kamiya (also known for Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, and Okami) to set the record straight again, or at least try to, on Twitter. For what feels like the umpteenth time.
Here is the translated version of Kamiya's statement, courtesy of Joystiq:
"We are a developer. Nintendo are the ones kind enough to fund and publish our The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 projects… So if Nintendo says, 'We are publishing Bayonetta 2 on PS3/360,' then it will happen. So please go ask them, not us."
Many people seem to forget that Nintendo is publishing both games. Furthermore, it has been noted time and time again, by Kamiya and others at Platinum, that it was Nintendo who approached them to do both titles.
Yes, even a sequel to Bayonetta, a game that originally appeared on the PS3 and Xbox 360. And a sequel that they did not have on the drawing table, until Nintendo came knocking on their door.
Basically, if that or Wonderful 101 (which is heavily built around the GamePad, btw) were to ever see the light of day on Sony or Microsoft's machines, it will be because Nintendo said it was cool. And the idea of that happen is frankly insane, among other things.
