February 5, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new series of hot fixes for Borderlands 2 is out.

Gearbox has issued a new round of fixes and updates for its bestselling game Borderlands 2 on the PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The patch is set to go live immediately on every platform the game is on.

The updates address some issues with kill skills for the Commando class and a bug relating to the newly available Sir Hammerlock DLC. Here's what's in store:

* Commando's Rifleman, Gunner and Shock Trooper class mods now correctly increase kill skill bonuses.

* Increased Shock Spike shield damage by addressing issue where it was not being calculated properly.

* Clients are now able to see explosions caused by Norfleets in multiplayer.

* Thermitage (Sir Hammerlock DLC) is now friendlier and will no longer refuse to come play with some players.

Unlike its other updates, which include DLC and new content, the latest patch is described as a "hot fix" that's automatically applied the at the "Press Start" screen when Borderlands 2 first connects to the internet. The small patch is designed to address issues with the game between major patches and content updates, and are stored within the game's memory during the session and lost after exiting the game.

You'll have to connect to the internet to receive these fixes, which differ from regular patches that remain as permanent updates to the game.
