Those still trying to figure out which version of Metal Gear Rising to nab can stop analyzing the previously reported comparison video. Why? Because there is now an official clear-cut winner of the contest. And it's for the PlayStation 3.
The reason? Because previously reported VR missions in the form of DLC will be a PS3 exclusive, according to the PlayStation Blog.
The expansion, which takes its cues from the original Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (originally part of the MGS re-release in Japan, Integral, but stripped away and made its own thing for the Western audience), will be 30 missions long, and includes the chance to control the Dwarf Gekko, which Liquid Ocelot used quite a bit in MGS4.
Such news is sure to be a blow to those who only own an Xbox 360, but it should also be hardly surprising either. The Metal Gear Solid franchise has always shown an affinity towards Sony, which is perhaps understandable, since it was born on the PlayStation.
It promises "an eclectic mix of challenges” that diehard all Metal Gear fan boys and girls have come to expect. Which hopefully means that the DLC will also take cues from the VR missions from MGS2. Especially the chance to deal with foes that are ten stories tall.
