Owners of Skyrim on the PlayStation 3 have been clamoring to play the game's DLCs since they were released on both the PC and Xbox 360, but for whatever reason have remained strangely elusive from the PS3.
Bethesda has made repeated promises to reveal more details about the PS3 versions of the DLCs, but did not provide any dates for their release—until now, that is.
The DLCs include Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn—the last of which is set for release on the PC early February. It's been out for the Xbox 360 for some time now.
Today, Bethesda's Pete Hines appears to have good on the promise to release every Skyrim DLC for the PS3, stating on Twitter that both the PS3 1.8 update for Skyrim as well as all three DLC expansions have passed certification at Sony America. Accordingly, the European certification is also being finalized.
Hines did not provide an exact release date for the DLCs, but given that it's already passed certification at Sony, it should take no more than a couple of weeks. With any luck, every DLC will be made available on the same day, so PS3 owners of the game will have a lot to look forward to when that happens.
With the PlayStation 3 version of the game almost caught up, it's only a matter of time before the studio releases a Game of the Year version with all the DLC. But it'll have to wait, as there's yet another DLC on the way that's yet to be announced.
