Publisher Another Indie is bringing an eclectic trio of unusual indie games to PAX Aus this year. All three will be available to test out during the exhibit, no matter which genre you fancy. There’s the souls-like Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption, which is a dark, boss-bashing RPG being developed by triple AAA vets from Konami, Ubisoft and Blizzard. Before each battle, your character must sacrifice a portion of himself with the ultimate goal of soul redemption. It will fully release in Q1 2018 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Next up we have Shots Fired, which refers to neither the drama series nor the meme but a pixel art assassination simulator. Developer Chrysse uses humour to deliver a pop culture inspired adventure in which your task is to execute targets. You play as a former assassin-turned-photojournalist who works for FuzzBeed, and when things get tough, there’s even a ‘Huntr’ app to assist you on your murderous sprees. Wishlist Shots Fired on Steam here. A Nintendo Switch version is also on the way with a release frame pencilled in for Q1 2018.

Last but not least, Original Journey is a monochrome 2D shooter that mixes platforming, tower defence and ballistic warfare in one package. It features hand-drawn artwork and puts players on a dangerous quest to retrieve the Origin Stone, an ancient artifact that will save Planet Shadow from being invaded by wicked aliens. Original Journey is out now for PC and is headed to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Q1 2018.
PAX Aus takes place between October 27 – 29 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
