Dance Magic, a new PS3 game due to hit the PlayStation Store in North America next Tuesday (January 8th), has a new trailer showing what players will see on screen when they're boogying away to the “high-energy motion game”.
It all looks a lot more lighthearted than the likes of Dance Central 3, but then sometimes you just need to unwind with something a little less serious. The plot is suitably ridiculous too, involving dancers as warriors fighting for peace, with “Dance Magic” a kind of “biological energy that can only be realized by dancing”. An evil dancer plans to use “Dance Magic” to take over the world, and you (and – if you can bear it – your friends) must stop him with your own skills.
The game uses the Move controller, though doesn't seem to need it (presumably you can just dance your fingers over your DualShock controller). Twenty tracks are available with your initial download, and then you'll be able to buy more from the PlayStation store. The game might look thin on the ground, but there are multiple modes (including campaign, free dance, and cooperative dance via PSN), three difficulty settings, and seven dance styles.
Will you be putting some time aside next week to save the world through the healing power of Dance Magic?
