Friday the 13th: The Game is an upcoming survival horror title developed by IllFonic and Gun Media. The video game has been delayed last year so that the developers were able to release a campaign to go alongside the title and as such, we’ve been in the dark as to just when gamers can get their hands on Friday the 13th: The Game.
That is until today when the developers have revealed through a new game trailer that the title will officially launch worldwide on May 26, 2017. For those who are unaware of the title, Friday the 13th: The Game takes inspiration from the Friday the 13th film franchise.
Set in a semi-open world environment, groups of players will join matches online. Within the group, one player will take the role of Jason Voorhees while the others are camp counselors. Essentially, the counselors are tasked with escaping or working together to kill Jason Voorhees while the Jason player must locate and kill the counselors.
As mentioned, the development team opted to hold the game from launching just a little while longer as they attempted to craft a single player campaign despite the team not receiving a stretched goal to receive the support of the featured mode.
For now, take a look at the latest trailer launch for Friday the 13th: The Game up above along with the game gallery down below. Once again, players can pick up a copy of the game on May 26, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
