Embracer Group CEO Defends Layoffs Within Company and Industry, Shrugs Off Role In It
"Something that everybody needs to go through," huh?

"Something that everybody needs to go through," huh?

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefor claims every game company will do this at some point.

Take me home, country road.

Both studios are two of the largest in Germany, potentially devastating the game industry in the country.

Here's your reminder not to invite a vampire into your home.

The timing for these layoffs are why they sting particularly hard.

We can only hope this game meets the fans' expectations.

This unfortunately is not likely to be the end of Embracer's announcements of layoffs.

It's unfortunate that Embracer can't even retain this studio that they founded, instead of buying.

No one is working on this game project right now.

It doesn't mean the games are getting cancelled, but it's not good news at all.

At least it looks like Starbreeze is getting another chance.

Embracer is scheduled to finish restructuring by March 2024.

It's the first sign that the company is holding itself responsible.

This goes without saying, but Gearbox could probably buy themselves out if necessary.

The original games are deprecated and in need of updates, but it's also somewhat understandable why Volition doesn't want to bring them back.

Hopefully Starbreeze can implement cross progression and cross play systems as well.

It's the end of Embracer's acquisition spree.

However, we are dealing with a lack of updates for this remake.

Things continue to look grim for this upcoming remake.

In this instance, Sony can say their PlayStation Plus achieved something that Game Pass did not.
