Dah Hesho Shrine – A Minor Test of Strength
On the hills to the south of Tarrey Town, directly west of the Great Fairy Fountain in Akkala, you’ll find this shrine with a beautiful view of Lake Akkala.
Instead of a tough puzzle, you’ll face off against a Scout Guardian. These tricky opponents use multiple weapons, fire beams while strafing, and love to charge their wild spin-attacks. Use the pillars to hide when they retreat and unleash the spin — if they collide with a pillar, you’ll have time to attack.
Even small Ancient Shields are good enough to deflect and protect against Scout Guardian beams. After taking the Scout Guardian to low health, it will attempt to charge and fire an explosive super-blast. Charge in close and start swinging with the best weapon you’ve got. Alternatively, you can end the fight fast with an Ancient Arrow — those are available in the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, but they don’t come cheap.
When the Guardian is destroyed, the exit gate will open. Don’t miss out on the optional chest — there’s a Giant Ancient Core inside! Use it to get an Ancient Shield or Ancient Bow from the Akkala Tech Lab.
