Katosa Aug Shrine – Katosa Aug Apparatus
Found near the East Akkala Stable, south of the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. If you’re following the main road up to the lab, you can’t miss this shrine.
The dreaded “apparatus” signifier means this trial is all about using motion controls. The altar is visible right from the start, the trick is reaching it. Use the apparatus device to the right, and tilt to swing the giant hammer and hit the glowing orb into the funnel.
Getting this right means testing the motion controls to see how the hammer functions. Hold the controller / Switch console facing you, then swivel left / right to move the hammer. This way you’ll get a clean hit. If you mess up, exit out of the device and retry.
Once the orb is in the funnel, a platform will activate, allowing you to access the altar. But…
- Optional Chest: Look behind the altar! There’s a whole other room, and an optional puzzle to complete. This puzzle follows the same principles, but is much harder. You’ll have to angle the hammer and hit the orb hard to send it over the slope and into the funnel.
