Looking for more ways to slice-and-dice your opponents in NieR: Automata? Now you expand your weapon inventory with these additional attack pods. The more attack pods you acquire, the more weapons you can instal (and swap to) during combat, giving you even more options in the field.
You’ll also unlock the “Pod Hunter” trophy for finding both of these completely optional assault pods. There are only two in the game, but they’re pretty easy to skip. You can always go back and grab these in the environment, so they aren’t missable.

Collecting additional Assault Pods unlocks new weapon inventory slots. There are two extra assault pods available in the environment. Follow these step-by-step instructions to find them both:
- Pod #1:
- From the Desert: Center vendor, travel toward the Desert: Camp location. While moving northwest-ish, look on the side of one of the dunes to discover this pod submerged in the sand. Very tricky to spot. On the map, it’s on the outer edge of the “Desert: Center” circle, along the northwest edge.
- Pod #2:
- Go to the Flooded City: Coast area and travel to the water’s edge. At a certain location, you can begin fishing. Cast your line a few times and reel in — eventually you’ll randomly get an Assault Pod instead of a fish.
That’s how to get both additional Assault Pods. Finding them both unlocks the “Pod Hunter” trophy and makes new weapon slots available.
