Fire Emblem Heroes: Get the Best Deals With These Premium Orb Packs

February 6, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

On iOS & Android: Buyer beware! Certain Orb Packs aren’t worth your extra real-world cash in Fire Emblem Heroes. See which ones are actually a worse deal.

The sad truth is, if you want to unlock lots of heroes and make more progress in Fire Emblem Heroes, you (Might! Maybe! Eventually?) will need to purchase some of those Orbs, the premium currency available for Nintendo’s F2P mobile strategy RPG.

Orbs are used to unlock XP boosts or for random hero drops, and the more heroes you can get the merrier. The further you climb in Fire Emblem Heroes, the slower you’ll get free Orbs. If you’re getting to the point where throwing a few real-life bucks at Nintendo for an Orb Pack, you’ll want to check out a little extra info.

Get the Best Deals With These Premium Orb Packs

Not every pack (at current prices) is that great of a deal. In fact, the prices jump up by $0.01 cents in two instances — making the larger purchases completely pointless. Essentially, there’s no reason not to but the smaller packs of Orbs in Fire Emblem Heroes. Heck, you could just buy two and save yourself pennies on the dollar.

That’s in direct opposition to the normal F2P model — the more you spend on a pack, the more you theoretically are going to save per-premium-currency cent. That isn’t so in Fire Emblem Heroes, and the community has done the math to exactly list the real prices you’re paying for each Orb.

Here are the exact calculations, rounded up, as done by pedwardhaha on the Fire Emblem Heroes subreddit.

  • 3 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $1.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.66
  • 10 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $5.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.60
  • 23 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $12.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.56
  • 35 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $19.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.57 (HIGHER Cost Per Orb than the 23 Orb Pack.)
  • 48 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $26.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.56
  • 75 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $39.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.53
  • 140 Orb Pack
    • Pack Cost: $ 74.99
    • Cost Per Orb: $0.54 (HIGHER Cost Per Orb than the 75 Orb Pack.)
