The only new ring included in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC is too worthwhile to miss. The magical bauble makes the challenges in the first add-on for Dark Souls 3 slightly more manageable, granting the hero an increased frost resistance. Considering that so many enemies use frost-infused magic in the Painted World of Ariandel, the ring gives you an extra sliver of a chance to survive.
Getting your hands on the Chillbite Ring is actually pretty easy. There’s no monsters to kill or hidden areas to explore — you’ll just need to talk to a certain NPC. Get the complete details below.
How to Get the Chillbite Ring
Beyond the stone tower in the Painted World of Ariandel, there is a rope bridge that leads to a Cathedral. Inside the Cathedral, you’ll find an NPC called Sister Friede. She’s who you’ll want to find to earn the Chillbite Ring.
- To Get the Chillbite Ring: Talk to Sister Friede (NPC) in the Cathedral twice. Upon completing the second dialogue conversation, she will reward the player with the Chillbite Ring.
The bite ring adds +140 points to Frost Resistance. Here’s the full set of stats:
- Chillbite Ring
- Frost Resistance 140
- Weight 0.6
- “One of the bite rings native to Carim. Increases Frost Resistance. This ring would never grace Friede’s hand, for the painting and its frost became her home.”
The ring is especially useful against the boss at the end of the Painted World.
