The Strauss&Broda is a unique legendary machete found in a very secret spot of Dying Light: The Beast. You can get this powerful weapon very early if you know where to look — and we’re going to show you where to look. Getting it is pretty ridiculous and requires using a locked container over and over again. Don’t give up hope, because one of the best weapons in the game is waiting in this secret spot.

There’s a lot more Easter eggs and secrets to find in Dying Light: The Beast. Learn how to get the Beaver’s Stick weapon and explore a secret dam here. Or go for a ride on a bicycle here.

Where To Find Strauss&Broda | Legendary Machete

The Strauss&Broda Machete is a legendary weapon that’s incredibly powerful — and it’s always found in the same Easter egg location. To find it, you’ll need a lockpick and the ability to open hard locks. If you can do that, you’ll be able to get this unique machete at any point in the story.

  • Location: Go to the building southeast of the Cement Gardens. It’s the structures on the border of Golden Pine Park, just northwest of the Memorial Hill of Heroes monument.
  • Reach the rooftop and you’ll find a locked door to a utility room with a large awning. There’s a small campfire here like someone’s been living here.

The locked door has a hard lockpick challenge — open it to enter a dark utility room. Some strange sounds will play, but you can ignore them. The trick is finding the wall-mounted container next to the door.

  • The gray locker next to the door has a “Knock” command. You’ll bang your arm against the locker, but it won’t open.
  • You must continue to use the “Knock” command — keep doing it over and over again. You’ll need to knock for more than three minutes. It can take up to four minutes of constant knocking to finally open the locker door.

After 3-4 minutes of using the knock command, the locker will finally open and you’ll get the legendary machete.

What’s Special About The Strauss&Broda?

The Strauss&Broda Legendary Machete is incredibly powerful and has unique buffs that add even more damage potential to the weapon. Here’s a quick overview of the weapon we found.

  • Strauss&Broda Machete
  • Legendary One-Handed Weapon
  • 521 Slashing Base Damage
  • +500% Damage (Parkour Attacks)
  • +20% Damage (Accessories)
  • +100% Dismemberment Chance
  • 160/160 Durability [Irreparable]
  • This machete was used by a Bald Man with a Beard.

This weapon is especially strong when paired with parkour attacks, dealing an insane +500% damage when you’re parkouring, making this one of the best weapons while you’re moving around the environment. It’s a real powerhouse weapon that demolishes zombies, but it can’t be repaired, so you’ll want to save it for an important moment. Big boss fights are an especially good time to use this killer legendary machete.
