Gather your friends and jump online with these co-op games coming our way in 2025. If you’re looking for some games to enjoy locally then take a look at our upcoming local co-op games of 2025 list right here.
#26 Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone
There have been many takes on the infamous Chornobyl incident and the various events that happened because of it. In the video game space, that event has led to a series of games being made either about it or taking what happened there to the next level. Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone is one such example of that.
The game features you as a character who actually travels the multiverse looking for a specific item that can only be found in certain places. However, when you and your co-op partner are trapped in the most dangerous of these zones, you’ll have a fight for survival on your hands. Good luck with that!
#25 Dragonkin: The Banished
You live in a world filled with dragons. On the surface, you might think that this is a good thing because dragons are awesome, and you totally want one for yourself. However, in Dragonkin: The Banished, it’s the exact opposite of awesome. These dragons aren’t just numerous, but they’re a corruptive influence on the world itself. In fact, their blood has literally corrupted the very surface of the world, and it’s up to you and your co-op partners to finally bring an end to the Dragon Lords and their tyranny.
You’ll each be a different hero with unique skills and abilities. Use them wisely so that you can overcome the various challenges you’ll face on your quest.
#24 Outward 2
Many titles like to give players a sense of accomplishment while also guiding them so that they don’t get overwhelmed too quickly. However, in Outward 2, regardless of whether you play alone or with a co-op partner, you’ll need to be ready for anything because you won’t be guided at all as to what is going on in this place known as Aurai.
Here, you will don the role of explorer and set out to see what all you can do within this world. If you’re smart and you prepare for the worst, you might just live. If you don’t, you’ll die, and you’ll have to start all over again.
#23 King of Meat
Sometimes, you just want to go into a game and beat the stuffing out of whatever comes your way. If you can do that with a co-op partner? Great! In King of Meat, you and your friends will have the unique opportunity to not just fight whatever you come across but build massive dungeons to test your wits and other players’ skills.
That’s right. The entire crux of the game is players building up dungeons and then letting others play them so they can see who comes out on top in the end.
That means there’s almost a limitless amount of ways to play, so long as you’re willing to get creative.
#22 Perfect New World
When you’re dealing with an MMORPG, you’re guaranteed to not only have co-op play but also a massive world in which to enjoy co-op play. Perfect New World is a full-on, large-scale MMORPG that has you playing a Soul Tamer, and it’s your duty to search this vast world for the Prime, who has been reincarnated and thus must be sought out before great evil finds it first.
Once you pick the class of character you want to be; you’ll venture out into the world and fight so you can improve your skills. Work with your allies to take down tough foes, and build yourself up to be a warrior that no one can challenge.
#21 ARC Raiders
We all know the machines are coming for us eventually. In ARC Raiders, you’ll see one of the potential consequences of that happening. In this world, machines haven’t just taken over; they come down from the sky and can rain havoc upon people.
They’ve driven humanity underground and have forced them to scavenge for supplies just to survive! You are a raider who is hired to get supplies for the human colony. Each venture out into the world is dangerous because of the ARC robots and other raiders coming after you. Be quick about what you search for, take out as many enemies as you can, and then get back alive!
#20 Ashfall
It’s honestly depressing how bad the state of the world is in certain MMORPGs, and this next one is no exception.
In Ashfall, AI has helped cause the end of the world, just as we all knew it would! However, there is hope in the form of the “Core of Creation.” But where is it? That’s what you have to go find out. You’ll wander the wasteland and outfit your character to take on the other players and monsters in this ruined place.
With numerous options for combat and allies, you can make this adventure as fulfilling as you desire.
#19 Ballad of Antara
There are plenty of games that feature players traveling between worlds in one form or another. The catch with Ballad of Antara is that the way you do it will help you save one version of the world as you traverse through the darker version of it. Don’t worry; it’ll make sense in the game itself.
As you weave back and forth through this “mirror” world, you’ll see how the two versions are different and the dangers that reside in one of them. Your goal is to fix what’s happening so that your world, the true world, can be full of life again. Will you be able to make that happen?
#18 Blight Survival
War is something that always costs those who partake in it. But sometimes, the horrors of war are nothing compared to the other horrors that roam the land.
In Blight Survival, you’ll be part of a medieval conflict that gets interrupted by a supernatural force. A “blight” that infects the dead and attacks anything that it can. You are part of a group of knights who volunteer to venture into no man’s land and attempt to cut out the blight at the source.
The fights will be brutal, so you must be ready to retreat if things get too heavy. But if you don’t push forward, there is no hope for either side.
#17 Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is the next game that puts you in the realm of Pywel, where a constant state of turmoil and uncertainty allows mercenaries like yourself to rise up and get glory and riches.
You’ll go through the harsh lands looking for work and team up with other players to take on the challenges you come across. The fight for survival is the most important thing, and so no matter what beast or man that stands against you, you strike them down so you can get to your next fight. Else, you’ll just be the latest victim in this battle-scarred land.
Do you have what it takes to live here? We’re still waiting to hear more about the multiplayer component for this game as it seems to be something being added into the mix post-launch.
#16 Den of Wolves
Not all shooter games have to revolve solely around shooting. We’ve already proven that to you with numerous games on this list, and Den of Wolves is another one of that style. In it, you’ll not be soldiers, but thieves. Ones who live in an incredibly advanced city with numerous corporations vying to get an edge over their competitors by any means necessary.
That’s where you come in. You’ll get to take on numerous jobs and have to pick the perfect squad to take them on. You still have the option to shoot your way to victory at times, but don’t be afraid to get more nuanced to get the job done.
#15 Defect
Welcome to the last city that humanity is able to live in! If you look around you’ll see deadly factions that are trying to take power for themselves, and everything is governed by an AI that doesn’t care about people in the slightest, and uses all kinds of methods to keep its grip on the city.
So, where do you belong in this place? That’s up to you to decide. You’ll pick a side in the growing unrest in this world and see where it takes you. Will you side with the AI, or one of the other factions bent on control? Or, will you fight for freedom?
#14 Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core
If you’ve loved what this franchise has done so far, by taking its original title and spinning it off into different elements, then you’ll want to try out Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core when it releases, because it does a similar thing here.
The main difference is that it has a roguelite element to it, which in this case means that the dwarves you’re commanding will be stripped down to basics with every mission you do. Then, as you go through the different areas, you’ll upgrade them and attempt to prep them for what’s coming.
So, with each mission being a mystery, and plenty of dangers ahead, do you have what it takes to survive?
#13 Instinction
Welcome to the Valley of the Rift! You are Isabel, an ecologist who seems to have a weird connection to this place. But will that connection bring her truths or just get her killed?
We say that because within this place are dinosaurs who are more than willing to rip her limb from limb. Plus, there are mysterious people who not only thrive in this place but are trying to protect the creatures within.
The more you dive in, the more you’ll have to fight for survival and try to unravel everything that is going on here. How is this place possible, and can you and your co-op partner withstand its dangers? Jump in and find out!
#12 Killing Floor 3
In Killing Floor 3, the whole point is seriously about just blowing up a bunch of monsters to “save the world.” Will you really save the world? It doesn’t really matter, as it’s all about taking out untold waves of monsters and smiling as you do it. It’s the simple things in life that make you happy, you know?
Furthermore, as the list makes clear, this is a co-op title, so you’ll have the chance to take on all sorts of monsters with friends watching your back, making the experience even more awesome. So whether you take the game seriously or just play it for fun, things will go boom.
#11 Light No Fire
Typically, when it comes to co-op titles that have any element of lore to the game’s worlds, you are “destined” to go and explore the lands and fight off ancient evils or unlock incredible powers to save the land you’re upon.
However, in Light No Fire, that’s actually not what’s happening. Instead, you’ll be given a procedurally generated world that is ripe for exploration, but you can do it in whatever way you desire. That means you can just find an area to call home and build it up by yourself or with friends.
Sure, there are cool things to find if you look in the right places, but whether you do that is up to you.
#10 Little Nightmares III
The world of nightmares is a place that no one wants to end up in. After all, with all that can lie within, what do you do when one comes after you? In the case of Little Nightmares III, you’ll have someone to help you as you work your way through the darkness-filled areas ahead.
The series finally embraces co-op via its protagonists Low and Alone. They are trapped in the land known as Nowhere and are confined within The Spiral. From here, the two must work together to face the monsters that lurk around every dark corner and see if there’s any way to escape.
#9 Projekt Z: Beyond Order
Zombie games are easily one of the best uses of the shooter genre, because who doesn’t love to shoot up zombies? In Projekt Z: Beyond Order, you’ll find yourself in the period of World War II. You and your friends will be on an island that’s infested with zombies, and you need to deal with them.
Where things take a fun turn is that you can customize both your character and their weapons so that they can be an unstoppable killing machine. The more supplies and blueprints you get, the better weapons you’ll receive.
Plus, with co-op play, you can tailor your squad to be truly unstoppable.
#8 State of Decay 3
When you’re dealing with a zombie apocalypse, which, obviously, we all have experience in, one of the most important things is to find a group of people to survive with, and then keep those people alive. State of Decay 3 will give you another chance to do that, while making it perfectly clear what’ll happen if you fail your comrades.
You’ll go out on missions and attempt to live a life in this post-apocalyptic world. However, undead threats are all around you, and if you make a wrong move, one of your allies can die. When they die, they’re gone for good.
Do right by your crew and survive this world!
#7 Splitgate 2
Splitgate 2 is the perfect kind of shooter title if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush and something fun to do with friends. It takes the idea of portal creation and turns it into a sport that fans of this game world can’t get enough of. You’ll start out as a 4v4 crew, trying to take down other teams that you come across within the sport.
However, the game lets you know that your ultimate goal is to be the best singular player in this event, which means you’ll have to “turn it up” if you want to get those accolades. Think you can make it happen?
#6 Terminator: Survivors
While the movies tried to show us what was going on after Judgment Day happened, you know that it didn’t get to tell us all the stories that were happening. After Skynet took over, many groups of people inevitably had to come together to not just form the eventual resistance, but to survive in the first place.
Terminator: Survivors puts you as a leader of one of those groups and asks you to scavenge what you can for your group while also fighting Terminators that you happen to come across.
Just remember, they’re killing machines, so don’t be afraid to run or get sneaky to outlast them. Do whatever you can to survive.
#5 Titan Quest II
When you live in a land of gods and monsters, it can feel pretty impossible to go up against them and hope to stand a chance. Yet, in games like Titan Quest II, that’s exactly the challenge you’ll have to overcome.
The game puts you in a variation of Greek history where the goddess Nemesis has somehow acquired the Threads of Fate! With these, she can shape reality to her will, and that includes getting rid of any who attempt to stop her!
You won’t let this stand, though, and you begin your trek through the world and attempt to gain the gods favor so you can use their powers to strike Nemesis down for good.
#4 Dying Light: The Beast
Not every beast is a bad one. Sometimes, it just needs the right host to unleash some carnage with. In Dying Light: The Beast, you play as the first game’s protagonist, Kyle Crane. After his actions in the OG title, he was captured and experimented on mercilessly for a decade.
Once he got free, he soon found himself in Castor Woods, where a group of people are trying to make a living upon, despite all that’s around them. As you go on your quest for revenge, you’ll fight off monsters, help those in need, and literally release the beast within so you can do some real damage. Have fun!
#3 Dune: Awakening
We’ve had quite a few MMOs on this list so far, and we’re going to continue with Dune: Awakening. The game will put you in the legendary world of Arrakis and allow you to forge the destiny you feel is yours to have.
Within this sandy world are plenty of options and paths to take. You can venture alone and try to be a one-person army. Or, you can meet other players or characters from the books and movies and assemble a force the likes this world has never seen. What will your future hold? Will it be one that is etched in prophecy?
#2 Monster Hunter Wilds
At this point, it’s almost ridiculous to talk about Monster Hunter Wilds because it’s not just one of the most anticipated co-op titles of 2025, it’s one of the most anticipated games of 2025 period! Seriously, people are pumped for this title, as Capcom has done a great job in recent times to make it more accessible to various gamers while not making it easy.
In this new title, you’ll once again be part of a guild that is tasked with taking down monsters that haunt human settlements. With familiar and all-new monsters showing up in the game, you’ll need to be ready for everything and ensure your equipment is up to snuff so you can handle them.
#1 Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA Online)
While we still don’t know too much about Grand Theft Auto VI, it’s fair to think that between the main story and the inevitable online function that you’ll have co-op opportunities. After all, there are two main characters in the story campaign, and Rockstar Games could easily run with that if they wanted to.
With the online component, Rockstar will likely give players numerous missions to go on together to rake in the cash and help them expand their empires. With the Vice City twists involved, you can expect things to get even wilder than they did before.
In other words, you’ll be playing it for a long time.
