#6 Ark 2
It’s bad enough that people sometimes wake up in a world they’re unfamiliar with and wonder how they got there. But when that world is full of dangers, dinosaurs, and people who look like Vin Diesel? Yeah, they’re going to have lots of questions that need answering.
Your journey in ARK 2 is about answers and figuring out not only what happened to you but also what the deal is with the world you landed on. Massive expanses await you, as do plenty of characters who will either support you or try to take you out.
Which one is Vin Diesel? Well, we know he’s a guy who likes family…
#5 Borderlands 4
It’s actually a bit mean to say that Borderlands 4 is “simply a shooter that you can play with friends,” as it’s so much more than that. In many ways, it’s a game that LOVES being a shooter so much that it gives players millions upon millions of gun options to choose from, all so that they can have the best weapons possible to deal with the numerous enemies they come across. Oh, and you’ll have plenty of enemies to deal with in this next game.
While we don’t know who those enemies are, we have heard from Gearbox Software that it’ll be a graver threat than anything you’ve witnessed before. Thus, once again, there ain’t no rest for the wicked.
#4 Dragonkin: The Banished
Imagine a world where you’re not just occasionally fighting dragons, but dragons are your main enemy. Their influence over the world is so great that they’ve actually stained the very soil with their blood, which has led to numerous monsters coming into play.
You are one of four heroes that are attempting to take back your world, and to do so, you’ll need to take on the Dragon Lords themselves! Each class of character has special skills and abilities that can be used to take the fight to the dragons. Pick the one best suited for your playstyle and make the dragons rue the day they came to your world!
#3 Endurance Motorsport Series
They say that racing is about being “part of a team,” and that every member has a job. No matter if it’s NASCAR, F1, Drift, Rally or something like the Endurance Motorsport Series, you have to work well with your teammates if you’re ever going to survive and get to the finish line first. In this game, that will be your ultimate goal, and you’ll need to work with your co-op partners and other teammates to get the win.
The game is built to be one of the most accurate racing titles ever, which means that every single race will be as intense as the real thing!
#2 Outward 2
Welcome to a world where you are the only human around! Surely that’s not a problem for you, right? In Outward 2, you’ll become an adventurer that has many trials and tribulations ahead of them. The good news is that you’ll be able to take on many threats with your skills. The bad news is that if you don’t prepare properly for the tidings to come, you’ll soon find yourself in serious trouble.
The game doesn’t hold your hand. Instead, it goes out of its way at times to force you to make your own decisions. Be smart about what you do, or you’ll have to start over.
#1 Gears of War: E-Day
Many have wondered how this particular franchise would advance forward after some lukewarm titles in recent history. The answer is that the dev team will take everything back to the past, where it all started. In Gears of War: E-Day, you’ll play as Marcus Fenix once more and witness how the events of the Locust War started. Many of the classic characters will return, including Dom, and it’s up to you to fight through the hordes of monsters that are coming for humanity to at least give humanity a shot at surviving.
Origin stories can be powerful things when done right, so let’s hope they do this one right.
