There is a lot of variety packed into Hades 2 despite its Early Access status. I mean, the game, at pre-launch, has under AND overworld traversal, a bevvy of tools, characters, and weapons, and a list of things to do longer than the universe’s inevitable lifespan. Even after hitting the double digits in playtime, boredom has yet to even manifest as a fart in a hurricane.
What I am trying to say is, Hades 2 is really good and there’s lots of stuff to do. What’s even more impressive is that despite having 5 weapons to play with – all of which are beautifully unique – there’s more sequestered away behind incantations and mystery. This is the aspect system, and it’s pretty darn cool. Or it is once you conjure the thought into reality using a really big wok.

How To Unlock Weapons Aspects In Hades 2
I am not going to beat around the bush here – I don’t know how you unlock the ability to recite the Incantation, ‘Aspects Of Nights And Darkness’. Now, this isn’t because I am some kind of nefarious fraud frantically scribbling my thoughts into a poorly paced guide – no, no, no. The reason is because the game doesn’t tell you much. Things seem to unlock at random, whilst inevitably having a complex series of background interactions.
The Incantation is given to you by Headmistress Hecate, and I suspect it comes up in conversation after you have unlocked every weapon in the game. I would also hazard a guess that you also have to defeat Hecate with each of these weapons as well. In any case, unlock the weapons, play a bit, and the incantation will appear in your pot eventually.
Now that you vaguely know how to unlock the prerequisite for Aspects, it’s time to delve into actually whipping up a fresh brew. To magic up Aspects, you need 5 Bronze and 1 Nightshade. Nightshade is an incredibly common plant you can grow in the Crossroads. The seeds to grow Nightshade can be found in Erebus.
Bronze is only found in the City Of Elphyra. This is a surface location which is tied to a fairly length quest about breaking some wards. We have a full guide on getting to the surface and a separate guide on surviving up there.
Throw the ingredients into the cauldron and boom, Aspects unlock. Do be aware each aspect also requires more ingredients to unlock. Be prepared for some grinding.
How To Unlock Every Aspect In Hades 2
There are 5 weapons in Hades 2, and each weapon comes with 3 Aspects. That’s your default + 2 variants for a total of 25 weapons. It’s pretty darn hefty. Here’s what you need to unlock every Aspect, and what they do. Unlike the Incantation, you unlock Aspects at the Training Grounds in the Crossroads.
Witch’s Staff

Sister Blades
