Hades 2 gives Melinoe command over a truly devastating arsenal of weapons. In combination with her godly powers and witchcraft, the servants of Chronos quickly turn into corpses…or so you would hope. There is one catch to all of this, however, you can’t access them all right away.
That’s right, if you want to mess around with every weapon in Hades 2, you are going to have to put in a bit of work to unlock them all. As of writing, there are five weapons to unlock with Super Giant Games confirming a sixth is on the way. In this guide, we are going to go through how to unlock every weapon in Hades 2.
Note: Do be aware that Hades 2 is still in Early Access, so anything and everything is subject to change.

How To Unlock Every Weapon In Hades 2
There are 5 weapons in Hades 2, and all of them are fun to mess around with in their own way. You start the game with only one, The Witch’s Staff, but as you progress you are allowed to unlock more. You can unlock your new weapons at the Training Grounds in the Crossroads, and nearly every resource requires the Crescent Pick.
Witch’s Staff
This weapon is unlocked at the start of the game.
Sister Blades
The Sister Blades are a pair of short-range daggers that require 1 Silver to unlock. Silver can be mined in Erebus with the Crescent Pick.
Umbral Flames
A pair of wands that deal ranged damage. You need 3 Silver and 3 Cinder to unlock. You can get Silver from Erebus using the Crescent Pick (3 per node). Cinder is also found in Erebus but it is a reward for defeating Headmistress Hecate at the end of the Region.
Moonstone Axe
A giant axe that deals massive AOE damage. You need 15 Silver to unlock this weapon. Silver can be found in Erebus. You will need to harvest 5 nodes to get the required Silver. This will take several runs to gather.
Argent Skull
The final weapon in Hades 2 (as of writing) and by far the hardest to unlock. You need 2 Glassrock and 1 Bronze. Glassrock can be found in the Fields Of Mourning, the third Region of Hades 2. Bronze is much harder to find as it cannot be harvested in the Underworld at all. You can only get Bronze from the surface, which has a fair few hurdles to unlock. We have a guide on how to reach the surface and a separate guide on how to survive. You only need 1 Bronze and it has a decent chance of spawning in one of the early screens, so feel free to do a suicide run once you unlock the City Of Elphyra.
How To Use Each Weapon In Hades 2
Each weapon Hades 2 is unique and getting a hang of them will take practice. They all offer a different kind of playstyle, and many interact with godly Boons in different ways. We highly recommend you experiment with all of them.
- Witch’s Staff – A medium-ranged spear-like weapon. Your basic attacks are thrusts whilst your specials launch a ball of energy. Charging your attack and specials unleashes a high-damage AOE variant of each, respectively.
- Sister Blades – low-damage blades that attack quickly. The end of each combo is a high-damage AOE spin. Your special launches a throwing knife. Charge your attack to teleport to nearby enemies for a burst of damage. Charge your special to throw a fan of knives instead.
- Umbral Flames – Low damage ranged attack and medium damage orbital special. Charging both do a more powerful version of each. Unique to this weapon, you can move whilst attacking, although your movement is slowed. You can even dash whilst attacking.
- Moonstone Axe – Very slow attack speed, very high damage. Attacks in a wide arc with combos that end in a devastating overhead AOE smash. Special blocks incoming attacks. Charging your attack causes you to rapidly spin for massive AOE damage. Charging your special blocks incoming damage before unleashing a devastating ranged attack.
- Argent Skull – Mid-range ranged attack that specialises in explosive damage. Unlike other weapons, Argent Skull has an ammo system that forces you to collect your skulls after use. Special is a short-ranged dash. Charging your attack launches your skulls into the air before dropping like a mortar shell for massive AOE damage. Charging your special increases the range of your dash and deals massive AOE damage.
