Want to become an unstoppable killing machine very early in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Well, we can’t help with that — but we can help you get a weapon that will kill any creature in a single hit. The unstoppable Unmaking Arrow is a unique arrow any archer can equip. Once equipped, you’ll shoot an arrow that kills instantly. And those special arrow is even rumored to give you the power to kill an Arisen. Very mysterious! Here’s how to get the unique currency to buy this arrow and where you need to go to find it.
WARNING: To utilize this devious trick, you’ll need to be an Archer class. You can acquire the item, then unlock the Archer vocation later.
Step #1: Killing A Dragon
To get started on your hunt for the most overpowered weapon in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need to kill a dragon. Dragons are extremely powerful monsters you’ll encounter in some parts of Vermund — and killing them just isn’t possible with starting gear. Unless you go to one specific location.
The Ancient Battleground is located north of Checkpoint Rest Town to the west of the Misty Marshes area on your map. A Dragon resides in the valley of the castle ruins. By utilizing the ballista in this area, even a low level Arisen can kill it.
- Facing the castle, there are two large ballista on the ramparts. Clear the interior of the castle of enemies to make this step easier. Go to one of the large ballistae. Your pawns are required — three people must man one of these ballistae to make it function properly.
- Aim for the wing. After luring it over, immediately retreat — once it gets close, it will use a lightning bolt magic attack to destroy the ballista and can instantly kill your Arisen.
- Retreat down the castle toward the west path of the valley. There’s another small ballista here. Fire the small ballista multiple times at the dragon to lure it over. Again, retreat once it gets close or you’ll eat a deadly magic attack.
- Once it is lured to the small ballista, sprint back to one of the large ballistae on the main castle ramparts. Use the second, still functioning ballistae. One shot should be enough to kill the dragon.
The defeated dragon will drop a Wakestone and x15 Wyrmslife Crystals. The crystals are what we’re after. Collect the crystals, then plan on travelling south.
Step #2: Crossing The Border
The south of the map is an entirely different nation — the country of Battahl is closed and the border gate won’t open for regular visitors. To reach the south, we can use a secret path through the mountains. Between Checkpoint Rest Town and Harve, look for a ruined stone bridge called Bridge of Theodracus the Second.
On the west side of the river shore, there’s a forest path you can take south leading to a cave called Guerco Cavern. Fight through the cave and continue to progress until you reach an area called Cliffside Cave. There’s a Golem monster here — you can fight it or sprint right past it.
Outside the cave, you’ll reach a beach with a camp called Olta’Battahl Coastline. There’s a narrow stretch of land from this area that goes north through the ocean leading to a small shrine. This is the Dragonforged Shrine — called the Bay Wayside Shrine on the map. Here you can trade Wyrmslife Crystals for valuable rewards.
Step #3: Getting The Unmaking Arrow
The most powerful weapon in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the Unmaking Arrow. This killer arrow destroys enemies in a single hit. You’ll need a bow and set your vocation to Archer to use it, but you don’t need to unlock any special skills.
- Unmaking Arrow: Purchase from the Dragonforged at the Bay Wayside Shrine for 8 Wyrmslife Crystals.
Wyrmslife Crystals are dropped by Draconic enemies and can be found in hidden locations if you look carefully. The crystals can also be used to unlock powerful max enhancements from all weapons and armor. For a cost in crystals, you can upgrade any fully-upgraded piece of armor or weapon to unlock a fourth upgrade slot. This upgrade increases magical efficiency and causes your gear to weigh 50% less. Save up all the Wyrmslife Crystals you can grab and you’ll be swimming in ridiculously powerful gear.
