Kingdom Of The Beasts is one of the more difficult Caves to venture through in Pikmin 4. It is far larger than most up until this point, and it has multiple bosses guarding its highly sought-after treasure. Halfway through you fought the dreaded Empress Bulblax, but here, at the end, you face the true leader of the Bulborbs.
Where there is an Empress, there is usually an Emperor. The Bulborb hierarchy is no exception, and the Emperor Bulblax is a neigh-impervious being of unbridled power. More than capable of slaughtering vast swathes of Pikmin in an instant, you may find yourself rewinding time and retrying for the first time during this fight.

Where To Find Emperor Bulblax
Emperor Bulblax, like Empress Bulblax, can be found deep within the Kingdom Of The Beasts. This guy is guarding the exit to the Cave. He is the final hurdle in a long and gruelling spelunking session. You can find him hiding on the sixth floor, and he is not a fan of visitors.
When you first enter the arena, you will not see Emperor Bulblax. This is because he hides underground with only a bushel of flowers signposting his whereabouts. Approach with caution.
Emperor Bulblax Attacks
Emperor Bulbax has three main forms of attack, and all three are vicious. Firstly, he has a powerful tongue attack that fires out and gobbles up any Pikmin in its path. Because of this attack, we highly recommend you spend most of this fight riding Oatchie. This prevents Pikmin from separating and being easy pickings for Emperor Bulblax.
His second attack is a devastating jump attack. This attack deals enough damage to kill your entire squad of Pikmin if you aren’t careful. To avoid it, look for his clear signposting. He will signal he is about to jump, at which point, you want to recall all of your Pikmin (ideally onto Oatchie) and then make a run for it.
The final attack Emperor Bulbax has access to is a mighty roar. This will propel any Pikmin from Emperor Bulblax and leave them stunned on the floor. Use your whistle to quickly rally them and get them back onto Oatchie. The last thing you want is for Emperor Bulblax to take advantage of your Pikmin whilst they are sitting ducks.
How To Defeat Emperor Bulblax
There is one thing I have chosen to hide from you. Emperor Bulblax doesn’t come as a single entity. No, Emperor Bulblax always (as far as we are aware) comes in pairs. This makes them even harder to defeat as they will overlap their attacks constantly, making it far harder to defeat them.
Thankfully, with clever manoeuvring, you can force them to spawn one at a time. If done correctly, you will be able to defeat one and then fight the second one separately. Simply move very slowly towards the Bulblax flowers to trigger one of them.
That out of the way, defeating Emperor Bulbax is still not an easy feat. He is almost impervious to damage, and unlike his offspring, Emperor Bulblax can’t be hurt from behind.
The only weak spot Emperor Bulblax has is his face, which means you are going to have to throw hordes of Pikmin directly at the lion’s mouth. Of course, he will throw your Pikmin off after a while, so be prepared to repeat your attack several times. If you use Ultra Spice, you will hasten the battle to its joyous conclusion.
We recommend only attacking Emperor Bulbax after he launches his tongue attack. This will leave him defenceless for a prolonged period, it makes it far easier to get your picking to stick to his face. Rinse and repeat and you are good to go.
