Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s Atomgrad Raid Episode 3 officially reintroduces Echo 3-1, aka Alex Keller to the FPS title’s story after his apparent death in 2019’s Modern Warfare along with Hadir, Farah’s brother and ally turned enemy, being put squarely in the spotlight. Since the Raid episodes continue the narrative of not just the FPS title’s campaign, players that want to stay up to date with the going-ons of the Call of Duty story will want to know how to get through this challenging mission. This guide will provide a walkthrough for players on how to complete Episode 3 of the Atomgrad Raid in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Atomgrad Raid Episode 3 Walkthrough In Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
With Task Force 141 having rescued Alex and learning of Hadir’s involvement with everything going on in the bunker, Gaz heads back to the surface to relay information to Laswell while the new trio of Price, Farah, and Alex all descend deeper into the facility to find Hadir and make sure that he doesn’t use the warhead in whatever plan he is plotting.
Step 1: Descend The Unfinished Silo
Once all players take control of their characters, progress through the main hallway until the team reaches an unfinished silo with an elevator in the center. Press the button found at the top of the silo to power the elevator and then jump over to the descending platform. Stay on the elevator until it comes to a stop. Once it does, jump to one of the nearby alcoves and progress through the area to find a power switch. Be aware that there are many armored enemies in this area.
Returning to the central silo, the elevator will once again begin to move. Have the team jump back on and continue down until it once again comes to a stop. Once again jump to a nearby platform and explore the tunnel. Players will find a buzzsaw that will need to be used to cut through a number of locked doors. As one of the players cuts, their teammates will need to cover them from enemies that spawn. At the end of the series of locked doors is another power switch. Once flipped head back to the elevator. The team will now be brought all the way down to the bottom of the silo.
Step 2: Use The Cabinet To Make Your Way To The Water Room
Go through the double doors at the bottom of the silo and progress down the hallway until the team reaches a dark train tunnel. Follow the path to the left and avoid a series of rigged explosives. Once past the explosives stick to the right wall to find a path to a room with a yellow cabinet under a shutter door. Pull the cabinet out and then position it along the wall shown below. Use the cabinet to jump up into a window.
On the other side of the wall is an armory with a few armored enemies. Clear the area out and take the time to change any equipment and restock before progressing. Once the team is ready, go down the hole in the floor and go to the door found at the end of the room to reach the flooded server room.
Step 3: Complete The Security Code Puzzle
The server room is filled with many enemies, many of which touting armor and Riot Shields along with several snipers and rocket launcher users so be careful and prepared before engaging. Once the room is cleared, go all the way to the east end of the room and go up the stairs. Looking at the eastmost wall, go to the left end of the second floor to find a power switch. Once power is restored, go to the computer to the right of the switch and interact with it to generate a 15-number code. This is a code that will need to be entered in order to progress. Players can interact with the keyboard at anytime to generate a new random code if the team is struggling with the one provided.
To enter the code, players will need to interact with terminals found around the flooded room, each one designated with a number 0-9 which is painted on the wall next to it. All of the terminals are shown in the images below. The 0 and 1 are found on the south wall while 2 and 3 can be found at the west end of the room. 4, 5, 6, and 7 can be found on the north wall and 8 and 9 are on the wall between the staircases that lead up to the number generator.
Players will need to interact with each of these buttons in the order displayed in the code. The catch is that the team is given only a few seconds to press each button, with the code resetting if the time between two of the button presses is too long. This along with the water in the room being electrically charged, meaning players will need to traverse the room by jumping across the servers, can make this section extremely difficult. The best way to tackle this puzzle is to assign each player which buttons they will need to cover and plot out everyone’s route before pressing any buttons. With some good planning and a little bit of luck, players should be able to finish this section with minimal issues.
Once the code is correctly inputted, return to the floor above the 8 and 9 terminals and press the red button next to the locked blast door to progress deeper into the mission.
Step 4: Survive The Ambush, Go Through The Dark Room And The Bomb Room
Once through the blast doors, players will be confronted with an ambush by many of the facility’s tougher enemies, including two Juggernauts. Once this ambush is defeated, progress until the team once again finds a dark train tunnel. Go to the left and find a door on the left side of the tunnel. Through this door is a generator room. Players will find a shutter door that can only be opened by pressing two red buttons on either side of the door. Players can reach the other side of the door by finding a small gap that can be crawled through at the north of the room.
Once two players press the buttons, the third player can push a yellow cabinet similar to the one in Step 2 through the door. Put the cabinet against the wall under a ledge marked by a yellow and black stripe. Follow the path forward to find fire shooting from a pipe that will turn on and off. Time the fire’s activation time and run past it when it is off.
Once past the fire, players will need to jump across a series of stacked chemicals in a room rigged with several explosives. Once across the bomb room, the team will need to regroup at a door. Once opened, go into the blown-open vent to the right of the door and follow the path until the team drops down into a tunnel of water.
Step 5: Raise The Water And Find The AQ Lieutenant
The water will lead to an area housing a submarine as well as a wave of enemy combatants. Once the room is cleared of enemies, go to the west wall of the room to find a hole in the wall that the team can’t currently reach. Go to the left of the hole and have one player hold a red button to open a shutter door and have another player go into the room and get the third and final yellow cabinet. Position the cabinet against the wall and have all 3 players climb into the hole.
On the other side, there will be two valves on either side of a central terminal. The terminal has two gauges on it with a light above each one. Have a player on each of the valves and the third player at the central terminal. The players will need to turn the valve and time it correctly so that they reach both the point where the light above their respective gauges turns green at the same time. Once both lights turn green, the player manning the terminal will need to press the button on the machine to override the water pump, raising the water level.
With this first water pump control overridden, players will need to do the exact same process again. One of these new valves is found on the northwest wall and can only be reached by moving the cabinet and standing on it. The second valve is underwater to the right of the tunnel where players entered the area. The control panel that the third player will need to look at is found at the top of the staircase on the east side of the room, as shown in the third image below. Do the exact same thing as before and interact with the control terminal when both lights turn green, but be aware that enemies will be spawning so be careful.
If done correctly, the water level will once again rise, becoming high enough that players can climb into a hole in the wall found at the south end of the room. Press the button in this room to gain control of the crane above the submarine.
The controls for the crane are found right next to the second water pump control terminal. Have a player climb on top of the crane and have another player position it under the bridge above the room. The player on the crane will be prompted to plant an explosive on the bridge, blowing a hole in it and allowing the team to climb up to the top floor.
A player will need to pick up another buzzsaw and cut through three more locked doors while multiple waves of heavily armored enemies spawn. Once through the third door, clear out the area, including a Juggernaut, and regroup at the yellow door at the north end of this room to complete the Raid.
The team finds themselves in a room rigged to blow and is confronted by Hadir and his elite AQ operatives. With no other options, the team surrenders the weapons and is taken prisoner by their former friend. Players will unlock the Alex Operator when finishing the Raid episode for the first time as well as one of the random Raid Rewards with the other Rewards unlockable on subsequent Raid completions.
