January 30, 2023 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Scare up locations for these lost doubloons.

Be prepared for a spooky time in the lowest depths of Bikini Bottom. In the fourth level of Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, Spongebob must return to the spooky town for a Halloween-themed adventure. You’ll have to dodge hunting angler fish and complete trick-or-treating challenges to finally face off against a rampaging Gary in a museum dedicated to himself. The Gold Doubloons are particularly trick in this sprawling level. If you’re struggling to get them all, check out the complete guide below for all locations.

Gold Doubloons are optional collectibles that unlock costume tiers from the shop. By collecting hidden Gold Doubloons, you’ll make more costumes available for purchase in the shop menu. Gold Doubloons are hidden through side-quests, in the environment, or by completing challenges. Some challenges can’t be completed until after returning to a level. If a lock icon appears over an element on the stage, you’ll need to return later after unlocking more abilities for Spongebob.

Gold Doubloon #1: Bus Stop – Leave the Bus Stop and go down the two bus wrecks to where we encounter the first anglerfish enemy. Climb onto the raised ledge in the center of the patrol path, then hit the Karate Balloon to the left. This leads to a small cave with the gold doubloon.

Gold Doubloon #2: Kandyville – Entering the second checkpoint area, go right and use the bounce pads to reach the upper rooftop. Now follow the path of Karate Balloons and hooks to the left — it leads to a tall tower in the far distance. Reach the tower then glide through the boost rings to reach a rooftop with this doubloon.

Gold Doubloon #3: Kandyvilla – From the previous doubloon, turn around on the rooftop and look for a path with two conveyor belts. Jump along this path to reach the doubloon on a raised rock pillar.

Gold Doubloon #4: Rock Bottom Museum – Clear out the creepy jellies in the museum, then look behind the paintings directly below the entrance. There’s a hidden doubloon here.

Gold Doubloon #5: Bus Stop – On the left edge of the starting Bus Stop area, there’s a purple button you can stomp to initiate a time trial. Jump through all the burning rings to the rooftop to earn a gold doubloon.

Gold Doubloon #6: Kandyville – In the back-right corner of Kandyville, look behind an orange building for a purple button. This is only available after completing Level 7 and unlocking the Reefblower. Complete the obstacle course of enemies to get a doubloon.

Gold Doubloon #7: Scary Streets – After the Snail Race, you’ll reach a section of underground streets. From this area, use the conveyor belt and climb the platforms up in the starting room. You’ll eventually reach a cage built into the ground. Once you unlock the super ground pound, you can break through. Jump through the fire rings and defeat the enemies at the end of the course.

Gold Doubloon #8: Shadow Theater – Reach the roof of the Shadow Theater building with the purple switch. Stomp on the switch and jump through the flaming rings to collect the doubloon at the end.

Gold Doubloon #9: Museum Slide – After riding the slide from the Shadow Theater, you’ll reach a huge room with a giant slime drain in the center. Use a super ground pound to break the locked cage and defeat all the jelly enemies below.

Gold Doubloon #10: Kandyville, Snail Race – Return to the Snail Race! Get through the flaming rings before the time runs out to earn a Gold Doubloon.
