Getting around the huge open world of V Rising can take up way too much time if you are on foot. This is where a horse comes in and this handy guide will show you exactly where you can find one in V Rising.
Before you can get a horse in V Rising, you will want to make sure you are equipped with some strong loot. This is because horses can be found at The Dunley Farmlands which has enemies roaming around it who are level 30 and over. Horses will spawn in the parts of this area that are set up like a farm. However, you should be able to find plenty of horses in the western or eastern Militia Encampments. When embarking on your search, make use of your main map which should display a horseshoe icon if there is a horse nearby.
Claiming a horse as your own
Once you spot a horse, that is the tricky part done. All you then have to do is walk up to it and press F. This will see you mount the horse and it will become yours. It is important to note that each horse will have different max speed, acceleration, and rotation speed stats. To view the stats of a horse, all you have to do is open the menu while mounted and you can then choose the best one.
Having a horse will open up more possibilities such as getting around much faster. As long as you do not have anything in your inventory, you can also teleport at waypoints while mounted. In an event that you die, your horse will remain in that spot until you go back and get it. The same applies if you leave your horse outside of your base, unless another player steals it, of course.
Owning a horse comes with a huge responsibility. If your horse runs out of water, it will only be a matter of time before it passes away. By opening up your inventory when standing near your horse, you will be able to see how long your horse will stay alive for and if you will need to replenish your water supplies.
Horses will definitely prove useful when you are trying to become the next Dracula in V Rising. In addition, crafting leather and getting your hands on Blood Essence is also important when you are first getting started.
