Out of all the collectibles that you can find in Trek to Yomi, arguably the most important are the Upgrades that will increase your Health and Stamina meters. Without constantly improving your stats throughout your journey, a first-time playthrough will see you getting cut down many times. There are a total of 33 Upgrades, with 22 of them being for your Stamina and the other 11 being for Health. Collecting all of these Upgrades will not only make you as powerful as you can be but also unlock the “Dedicated Collector” for collecting all of the game’s Upgrades.
In Chapter 3 of Trek to Yomi, Hiroki returns to his village set ablaze. Kagerou, the man that killed his Sensei in the game’s first chapter has returned, and this time with much more blood on his hands. As you make your way through the village to save Aiko, these Upgrades will be essential to taking the fight to the violent Shogun, especially if you want to get the secret ending. This guide will show players where to find all of the possible Health and Stamina Upgrades found in Chapter 3 of Trek to Yomi.
All Chapter 3 Health And Stamina Upgrades In Trek To Yomi
There are a total of 6 Upgrades that you can find in the third chapter of Trek to Yomi. There are 4 Stamina Upgrades throughout the burning village, with the other 2 Upgrades being for your Health. Since you will not be able to revisit levels or zones once you go past them, this guide will show you where to find each Upgrade in the order that they appear in the level.
Health Upgrade #1
The first upgrade you find in Chapter 3 is immediately in the burning building just after the bridge that you are able to cut down. Entering the building, you will find a shrine before entering a hallway with a few enemies. Beyond this hallway is the room pictured below. There is a ladder directly to the right of this entrance. Climb it and go to the right until you reach the room pictured below on the right. This is where you will find the first upgrade. Be aware that if you go past the ladder, the floor will break and you will not be able to get back to the ladder, so make sure you grab the Upgrade before falling through the hole.
Stamina Upgrade #1
The first Stamina Upgrade is found in the graveyard that you can find outside the gates to the village. It is the same location where you find a Stamina Upgrade and an Artifact collectible in Chapter 1. You will find this area after you are attacked by a volley of archers and then by several bandits on horseback. When you reach the first picture shown below, go to the right to find this Stamina Upgrade.
Stamina Upgrade #2
After getting the Upgrade in the graveyard, enter the gates found ahead of the cemetery and continue through the critical path until you get a dialogue interaction with a bandit wielding a spear that will give you the “Heavy Thrust” Skill. Kick the door behind him open and enter the house. There is a secret entrance to the right of the screen. Enter this room to find the Stamina Upgrade.
Health Upgrade #2
The second and last Health Upgrade is found not too far from the previous Stamina Upgrade. Climb two ladders and fight across a rooftop and a balcony with screen dividers until you reach a staircase leading down. At the bottom, you will find a wounded civilian. Go to the right of them to find the Health Upgrade.
Stamina Upgrade #3
Go to the left of the wounded man and progress through the opening on the right up the stone stairs. Go past the ladder and enter the destroyed barn. Get past the two enemies inside and progress to the wooden bridge to the location shown below. This is where you will find the Stamina Upgrade.
Stamina Upgrade #4
Progress through the level until you cross the bridge and reach the very first shine that you activated in Chapter 1. Enter the burning warehouse on the left and go through the door at the left of the building. This is where you will find the last Stamina Upgrade for the mission.
