Salt and Sacrifice: How To Join All Factions

May 11, 2022 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Unleash chaos with these PVP factions.

Salt and Sacrifice isn’t just about fighting monsters in PVE. There are PVP factions to join — once you’ve entered into cooperation with a faction, you can go out on PVP hunts to earn glory for your particular faction. You can help allies or invade enemies with a full online experience.

If you want to get the most out of this system, you’ll want to find and join every faction. At least, you’ll want to know how to join them, even if you don’t want to do dirty deeds in the the name of the Shrouded Alliance or Dawnlight Order. Check out the full guide below to find and join each faction we’ve found so far.

How To Join Every Faction

[Work-in-Progress: Check back soon for more factions.]

Dawnlight Order: Ashborne Village – Reach the east section of Ashborne Village (accessible through Craterstone Mines or through the Gatehouse Shortcut) and enter the passage below the Named Mage Hunt. This leads back into Greymoss Mire. Grapple across the hook points to talk to the NPC. You must defeat one Named Mage to unlock this path.

Blueheart Runners: Ashborne Village – Find the Simple Key and Hideout Key in Archridge District, then climb to the top to unlock the door. This is one of the more complicated factions to join — learn more about unlocking them here.

Shroud Alliance: Bol Gerahn – Accessible after acquiring the Steel Key from Bol Gerahn Temple. The key is found high in the temple, in a large room with a jumping puzzle near the ceiling. Climb up the tower, using the grappling hook on the exterior, then reach the jumping puzzle with the ceiling blade trap. Jump across to find a locked door — use the Steel Key. In this room, talk to the NPC.

Sheriff Inquisitors: Bol Gerahn – Found in Bol Gerahn. Requires defeating a Named Mage in Bol Gerahn and the Magnesis Supply to use the zip-lines. Go right from the start and enter the Creeping Caves. Zip across the line lower in the caves, then wall-jump up the crumbling platforms to reach the Unclean Oasis. Drop down from the bridge onto the structure below with an NPC standing on the roof. Talk to him to join his covenant.

Oathbound Watchers: Corvius’ Mire – After gaining the ability to use the stone summoning circles, jump up onto the wooden platforms above the starting area, slightly left after porting to the mire. Go up and activate the stone circle, then use the grappling hook to reach the Oathbound Watchers NPC. Talk to them to join the covenant.

Chaos Hunger: Dreadstone Peak – Reach the arena in the palace (Two That Remain) and enter the Old Annex. Drop down on the right side until you reach an optional hole with a windstream. Drop down and talk to the NPC to join the faction. This also unlocks an additional NPC merchant in your hub.
