The Yiga Clan [Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild]
The Yiga Clan is an awesome new addition to the Legend of Zelda mythos. These sneaky ninjas are waiting to ambush Link all over Hyrule — sometimes they’ll disguise themselves as simple NPCs, and sometimes they’ll ambush Link from the shadows in force. They’re a mysterious bunch that oddly really love their bananas, and you’ll get to meet their leader in a complicated mini-dungeon in the Gerudo Tower region.
Instead of fighting them directly, Link will have to tap into his inner Solid Snake and sneak through their impressive underground lair. For players that have been ignoring the stealth mechanics in Breath of the Wild, this is a sudden extreme jump in difficulty. There’s a useful set of clothes that improves Link’s sneaking abilities, but due to the nonlinear design of the game, you’re not guaranteed to have the stealth armor yet.
And the stealth is extremely punishing. If you get caught, you’ll get sent back. While this is a very annoying section of the game, it’s also filled with clever little details — you can climb the walls to avoid being spotted. You can drop bananas on the ground to distract guards. And you can use all the abilities you’ve gained so far to explore. This might be an annoying section, but this one can be pretty creative.
Airplane Training [GTA: San Andreas]
Grand Theft Auto fans collectively grind their teeth thinking about the RC Plane mission of San Andreas. These missions are the definition of bad. The controls are bad, the objective is easy to fail — its straight up terrible. The only saving grace is that the RC missions are optional.
The Airplane Training missions? Those aren’t optional. You won’t be able to fly — one of the main travel methods in the game — until you complete all the training courses. And like the RC Plane, the controls are just terrible. Trying to fly through rings and make precision landings? It ain’t happening. These missions are also desperately boring. Most of the courses are easy. Things don’t get annoying until the last few where you’re tasked with doing loops, barrel rolls, or parachuting on specific locations. Why do we need to know any of this! There’s literally no reason to ever do a barrel roll or a loop. This isn’t Ace Combat.
