Recruits Give You Big Bucks [Watch Dogs: Legion]
Another perk-related trick that’s not really an exploit, and not really a bug — it just allowed players to earn lots of in-game currency without much effort in a way that’s pretty absurd. In Watch Dogs: Legion, you can recruit literally anyone on the street to help fight against the PMC trying to take over London. Each person is randomly generated and unique, and some of these characters have the Signing Bonus perk. That’s key to this weird money-making trick.
This perk gives you 300 ETO when the character joins your crew. To keep getting cash, all you have to do is dismiss them and re-hire them over and over and over again. There’s no end to the cash, and it’s a great way to save up money in the early game for fancy clothes. The clothes make the human, after all.
Royalty Is Still OP [Demon’s Souls Remake]
We’ve said it before, but 2020 was the year of the remake. Some of the biggest games of the year were remakes, and that trend might even get stronger in the coming year. For now though, we’re happy to talk about Demon’s Souls again. This criminal underplayed PS3 game reached a much wider audience as a PS5 launch title. It looks better, plays better, and retains all the old exploits we love. And the most basic trick of all is just picking the correct class.
The Royalty class is Easy Mode in Demon’s Souls. This class starts with Soul Arrow, a magic spell — and can start with the Fragrant Ring, which causes your MP to recharge slowly when equipped. Soul Arrow makes the opening hours of the game so much easier, and continues to be absurdly powerful for the rest of the game. Magic is just completely broken in Demon’s Souls, and only a handful of bosses are resistant to it. Even the ones that are have other weaknesses you can exploit. Basically, starting with magic and going full magic? That’s one of our favorite little tricks that’s become even more important in 2020.
