Finding A Talking Gun [Cyberpunk 2077]
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t really resemble open-world RPGs like Skyrim or Fallout 4 — it’s much closer to Witcher 3 with a lot more shooting. There is one single special item that does remind me of Skyrim, and that’s the talking gun iconic weapon. By exploring the southwest “?” marker in Vista Del Rey, you’ll find an alleyway with a dead body. Picking up the weird gun on the ground begins a mini-quest that isn’t explained anywhere in the game.
The gun talks to you! And it matches your level, so it’s always strong. After a quick conversation, the weird little gun even offers to swap to one of two modes. It will either aim for the legs (non-lethal) or go for endless headshots (lethal) — just make sure to choose the opposite of what you want. Skippy is an extremely annoying gun, and after 50 kills it will permanently switch your choice. Yes, really.
Recruiting A Living Statue & A Magician [Watch Dogs: Legion]
London is a strange place in Watch Dogs: Legion. The near-future gives you access to construction drone operators that can summon flying platforms, or you can recruit beekeepers with killer robot bee swarms. But the weirdest characters to recruit by far are the Living Statue and the Magician. The Living Statue is exactly what is says on the tin — they can pretend to be a statue, immediately losing the bad guys if you’re being hunted. Its hilariously useful.
And even the Living Statue doesn’t live up to the magician. These hypnotists have the absurd power to turn friends into enemies — you just have to stealth up to soldiers and your little hypnotism watch does the rest. You can literally hypnotize people to fight and die for you! The developers don’t even try to justify this absurd power or couch it in the game’s sci-fi reality. It’s just a magician unleashing a little magic.
