Who Is Your Father, And What Does He Do? [Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate]
Mortal Kombat 11 went wild with the DLC in 2020. The mad lads over at Netherrealm Studios have hilarious cameo characters like John Rambo, Robocop, and our favorite — The Terminator. Every character is packed with weird references and Easter eggs, but the Terminator is easily our favorite.
Fight Sonya Blade and the Terminator gets her confused with Sarah Conner. Erron Black says “Hasta la vista, baby” to the Terminator. Kabal says “It’s Turbo Time!” — and the Terminator says that Baraka is “One ugly motherf#@&er” — tons of references to Terminator, Jingle All The Way, and Predator.
And our favorite didn’t appear until later when Mileena was introduced to the roster many months after the Terminator dropped. If you managed to pit these two fighters together, the following exchange will occur. It’s all documented in the video linked above.
Mileena: It is unwise to challenge my father.
Terminator: Who is your father, and what does he do?
Look, that’s just hilarious. A reference to the unforgettable classic Kindergarten Cop? Our presents came early this year.
The Illuminati Is Real [Wasteland 3]
This is an Easter egg that exists just to mess with our heads. In both Wasteland 2 and Wasteland 3, players can find a weird character called The Provost — once encountered, he follows the party around permanently until he dies. He only speaks in Latin, he’s deeply cryptic, and you can find a secret society with him in Wasteland 3.
By freeing him from the prison under Colorado Springs, your party will keep him until you luck upon a rare Minerva Coin. If you find one with him following you, he’ll talk about a new location called the Heart of the Mountain. A new marker appears on your map, and you’ll enter a dark ritual with even more weird Provost guys! You’ll get the “Illuminati” achievement / trophy for finding them, but seriously — why does this exist? Just to confuse us?
