Little Nightmares II was a surprise reveal from the development Tarsier Studios at Gamescom 2019. The studio kept things hush-hush until it was ready to unveil it onto the masses. While the Gamescom 2019 unveil only showcased a small announcement trailer, we learned a few little tidbits about the overall title. For starters, we know that the story will take place in a new area and even a brand new protagonist. However, some of the more fine details have been kept a secret from fans until it gets closer towards its release date.
It wouldn’t be until Gamescom 2020 that we got another trailer showcasing Little Nightmares 2. This is quite the terrifying platformer as it appears a new cast of characters are joining into a journey of escape from this hostile world. We can’t wait to try this game out when it finally launches into the market on February 11, 2021.
#3 Humankind

- Release: 2021
- Co-op: N/A
- Competitive Multiplayer: Yes
Humankind is a Civilization style video game title. Players will be shaping humanity from the Neolithic era and tweaking them until they reach the modern-day era. It seems that the human race can be tweaked and there will be over fifty different cultures to make use of. We didn’t get too many details so far about this game but it does seem that there will be some combat elements as well and that players can find discoveries to help aid in your adventure.
Currently, Humankind is a new title that is not slated to release until sometime in 2021 for the PC platform. Being a brand new AAA video game IP we’ll likely see plenty more about the title from Sega leading up to its release and just how it will differ from some of the other similar franchises already in the market.
#2 Halo Infinite
- Developer: 343 Industries
- Publisher: Xbox Game Studios
- Platforms: PC, Project Scarlett, XBO
- Release: 2021
- Co-op: TBA
- Competitive: TBA
During E3 2019’s Microsoft Xbox press conference we got our first real look at Halo Infinite. While we didn’t get any gameplay footage, we did get a little synopsis clip. It seems that the game will take place on a Halo Ring where humanity has fallen. It’s up to Master Chief to once again to turn the tides against the hostiles. We’re still waiting to get more information about the game, but fans have discovered a hidden Cortana audio message from the E3 2019 trailer. The message is a bit vague but it seems that a fragment of Cortana is still around but it’s unknown just how big of a character role she will play when Halo Infinite launches.
It wouldn’t be until July of 2020 that fans would get a gameplay footage reveal. After years of waiting, fans were left rather disappointed over the lack of quality and details that they had expected 343 Industries to offer with the next-generation Halo release. This backlash actually left 343 Industries to postpone the game which means instead of launching into the market with the Xbox Series X in 2020, Halo Infinite would be delayed for a launch in 2021. Hopefully this delay proves to be worth it as fans are forced into waiting a bit longer than expected to get the next chapter to this beloved franchise.
#1 Resident Evil Village

- Release: 2021

Resident Evil has been a long running video game franchise and this survival horror series continues to find newcomers with each and every installment. Over the past few years, after the launch of Resident Evil 7, Capcom opted to go back and offer players remakes. After the success they had with remaking Resident Evil, the development studio tried their hand at remaking both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. While the third installment didn’t fetch as many units sold as Resident Evil 2, it looks like the remakes managed to become quite a success. However, rather than continue on with remakes, the development studio has decided to progress forward with the next chapter entry called Resident Evil Village.
This game takes place a few years after the events of Resident Evil 7 where Ethan has started to get his life back to normalcy. Unfortunately, things don’t last long that way as Chris Redfield appears and turns Ethan’s life back into quite the miserable state. Now Ethan is tracking Chris down at a desolate village as he seeks out answers of what’s going on. We’re still waiting to see more footage on this game, but it looks like there will be an assortment of new enemy types of fight on in this installment, but unlike the remakes, Resident Evil Village will be taking the gameplay mechanics of Resident Evil 7. What players will be experiencing is another first-person survival horror gameplay installment to this franchise when it launches in 2021 for next-generation consoles and PC platforms.

If you’re looking for another Batman game to enjoy in 2021 then you might out of luck. However, you do have Gotham Knights. This is a new title from WB Games Montreal that is delivering another Batman themed video game but without putting players into the role of the Dark Knight. In Gotham Knight players will find that the story picks up after Batman’s and James Gordon’s apparent death. As a fail-safe measure, Bruce Wayne sends out a video message to his closest allies, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood.
Bruce alerts the group that he has perished and Gotham City is no longer safe. As a result, it’s up to this group to help keep Gotham’s citizens free from harm as the villains start to wreak havoc. Players can expect an action RPG title with each of the four characters having their own unique attributes. As players progress they can level up their characters and there’s even two-player cooperative gameplay. With a seamless drop-in feature, a secondary player can join into the game without disrupting anything happening to the gameplay narrative. Another point of interest you might have for Gotham Knights is that players can expect a brand new storyline. However, it looks like there will be a focus on Talons as the main antagonist in this game which was a group first introduced during the Court of Owls storyline from the Batman comic.
