#8 WRC 9
WRC 9 or otherwise known as World Rally Championship has it’s a ninth mainline installment to the beloved video game franchise. Once again, it’s being developed by Kylotonn who has been developing for the WRC franchise since 2015 with the launch of WRC 5. If you’re unfamiliar with the video game series, much like the name insinuates, this is a Rally type of game where players will be barreling through a wide range of tracks and we’re expecting the same great gameplay that we got in WRC 8. In last year’s installment, we got new dynamic weather effects along with an overhaul career mode.
Outside of some improvements being made to already established mechanics and game modes for the game, players can also expect some additional events being added into the game. We know that we’ll get a Rally races in New Zealand, Japan, and Kenya this time around. It’s also said WRC 9 will have even more vehicles included although we’ll have to wait a bit before we’ll get a chance to try the game out. WRC 9 is not releasing until September 3rd of this year. While it’s coming to the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. It’s also stated that there will be ports available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and the PlayStation 5 later on. Don’t think this will be the last WRC title coming out as well since it’s already been confirmed that WRC 10 and WRC 11 will be coming out soon after.
#7 Hotshot Racing
There’s a reason we’ve seen so many arcade-style racing games released over the years. They are insanely fun and don’t rely on players making use of precision turning or the fine details that go into tuning a vehicle, the components being used, or even the tracks ahead. It’s mainly senseless fun and we’re always eager to try out a new arcade title especially one that seems to take inspiration for other iconic titles from the past. In fact, Hotshot Racing not only takes cues from previous hit arcade racers but attempts to bring out an aesthetic of a retro arcade-style racing game.
In Hotshot Racing players will have access to nearly twenty racing circuits filled with high-speed turns and straightaways. This game will throw players from the coast, jungles, to the blazing heats of the Las Vegas deserts. A good portion of the game mixes in catching boosts and drifts, however, if you’re looking for a bit more than simple racing then you’ll get a couple of other game modes to enjoy as well. These include a game mode where one player has a bomb attached to themselves and must ram into another car to remove it before time runs out or even a mode where teams are split into cops and robbers. In this game mode cops are forced to catch the robbers before they make it through the finish line.
