#5 Bloodborne

PS Store $19.99

Bloodborne is an action RPG from the creators of the Souls series. Since this is from the developers who have brought out such hits as Dark Souls, you can expect brutal gameplay. Players are set out to clear the city of Yharnam who’s inhabitants have been hit with a blood-borne disease-causing them to turn into beasts. There’s quite a few that find this game such a blast to play though it can be difficult. Still there are fans that hope a new installment makes its way out into the market sooner rather than later.

#4 Detroit: Become Human

PS Store $19.99

Quantic Dream is a development studio that has worked on several iconic video games over the years. They are known for delivering a narrative adventure filled with exploration, QTEs, and player choices. One of those games is Detroit: Become Human, which happens to be the last installment released from the studio at the time of writing this. Detroit: Become Human is set in the future where most of humanity relies on human-like androids to do their bidding. However, over the years, the development of these androids have started to give these characters a conscious of their own with new desires and changes. You’ll be following a story involving a few different androids and just as we mentioned earlier, the story is twisted through a series of choices which may give you a ton of different outcomes. This could allow you to replay the game in order to see what other endings there are.

#3 Titanfall 2

PS Store $19.99

Respawn Entertainment got its start with the Titanfall IP. This was a multiplayer-only video game in which players could face against each other through the use of these massive mechs or by taking the role of a foot soldier. When the game launched, it was quite praised but fans had expressed an interest in a campaign and that’s exactly what we got with Titanfall 2. This time around players are given the campaign to go through along with several multiplayer game modes. Now the game campaign will rely on players knowing the overall situation of this war from the first game, but a little research online will set you up for the campaign in Titanfall 2. At any rate, even if you’re done with the campaign, the gameplay is still very much active online as there’s no word of Titanfall 3 being in development at the moment.

#2 Resident Evil 7

PS Store $19.99

Resident Evil has been around since the early years of the original PlayStation. Since then there have been several mainline installments and spin-offs, though when it comes to the mainline releases, there have been a few changes. Capcom started to shift away from the traditional survival horror attributes you may be used to for an over-the-top action-horror experience. The biggest change to the gameplay came in Resident Evil 6 which fans have expressed their desire for Capcom to bring the franchise back to its roots.

Thankfully the studio listened and we got an old school Resident Evil feel with Resident Evil 7. This time around players are put into the role of a man named Ethan that has been on the hunt for his missing wife Mia. His search takes him to a derelict plantation in which he is captured by the oddity Baker family. Clearly infected with some disease, Ethan is forced to sneak around the plantation in hopes of finding more clues of Mia while ultimately escaping with his wife. Just like the old school Resident Evil video games, players will mainly be exploring, solving puzzles, and working with limited resources to use against enemies.

#1 Doom

PS Store $19.99

Doom has been around for ages and fans credit the game quite often for influencing so many other franchises. Still, over the years the franchise had continued to thrive either with new installments or simply developers releasing the older video game titles on the latest platforms. That changed with 2016 as developers id Software opted to bring out a new remake for Doom. The game released with a massive overhaul in visuals and gameplay that fit the original game but also adapted to the modern mechanics. The results were a massive hit as we got another look at our favorite space marine having to battle against all sorts of demonic scum that have invaded our realm thanks to a portal opening on Mars.
